I think there should be no problem with it. In the bible, there are several prophetess' talked about in high regard and there are women mentioned in the gospels as being spreaders of the word. Mentioned in Romans and Corithians. Mary Magdalene was supposed to have gone about spreading the gospel as far as France.

what i think is this, that at that time it was not socially exceptable for women to have these roles because it would of caused a great upheaval and unrest, the same as christian slaves were to remain slaves. because it would of caused such a public outcry and give the church a bad press so its was more important to keep the peace because the people couldnt exept this. but also man has been put in authority over a woman like christ is in authority over the church. but before women start giving me hate mail this authority is of a different kind to that in the world. it is actually to protect and look after the women. i would say that it is not wrong today like back then the same as women not wearing a veil is aceptable today and women even allowed to speak in church. the laws were written for our own good to protect us not god. so what i probably recomend is this. a woman can become a bishop or priest as long as if her ministry is envolved with violent men, like streetwise drug addicts and alcohlics then she must have a male protector present. plus being a woman is not sinful.the curse in genesis that your desire will be for your husband and he will rule over you, doesnt apply here because its to do with the husband and not the church and any way if it is a curse put apon women not to rule over a man and "indeed that anyone is really ruling over anyone else in gods church" then it impossible to brake that curse whether we wanted to or not. if it isnt gods will it wont succeed. i dont know if their are any other scriptures that oppose what i say, so i hope this helps. i think practical common sense applies god has written his laws on everyones heart non-believers and believers alike.

I totally agree with it.

I will say the ministry is is not an easy life for either gender or their families. It's long hours, heart wrenching, and you live in a spotlight with the world having expectations of you that are unreasonable.

Christians tend to be really judgemental about behavior and alot miss the point about the compassion and care we should have for the world. Shepherding lost sheep--it's easy to get lost yourself. Plus it's so political.

Anyway, because it's a hard life the churches will be forced to do it. There is a shortage in most seminaries of all students.

My views on this subjest is the same as God's. It is not allowed, and women should remain scilent in the church and should not lead behind the pulpit. It's ok for them to run a sunday school class, but not be the leader of a church.

1 Corinthians 14:35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

As long as they walk close to God, are obedient and share their testimony and God's teaching based on the biblical Word of God, there is no problem.

1 John 4:1-3 (New King James Version)

1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
2 By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,
3 and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

It is umbilical! The Scripture plainly says that women are under man, man is under Christ, and Christ is under God. It also says that women are to be silent in church and if they have a question to save it until they are home and then ask their husbands/fathers.

While I'm aware of how controversial this subject is I still feel that it is against scripture.
It is my belief and conviction that women are to minister to children and other women.
Joyce Meyers fits this very well.
