One says one thing the other says something else. How can you believe in something most of you don't understand

It's not what "most of us don't understand." It's interpretation of the same passages. Christians believe in one thing: Jesus was the savior. The rest is pretty much up for grabs depending on your denomination. God gave us each individual minds--we each have to make up our own minds.

This should be put into the best question of the year contest. I have been a christian all of my life and that problem has always rubbed me the wrong way. And the answer is the Bible, at least, what people "read into" it. I have for many years told other christians that they do not need the bible, as such. The Bible was written by common men, as they saw things or heard them told to them.

IF YOU WISH TO BE A GOOD CHRISTIAN, you only need to live by one rule, Do onto others as you would have them do onto you.
90% of all christians do not live by that rule. And our capitalist system changes people too. Most christians believe they are good people, yet they have one set of rules for their personal life and another for their career life or job. I see that all the time.

As a christian I know that I will be judged by how I treat the least of us, most so-called christians could careless about the least of us. Except that they need the homeless and poor for those times when they wish to feel like they are giving something away, so that they can feel good about themselves, THEN.

They only unite in the belief that Jesus died for everyone's sins (though I haven't found yet where even Jesus said that). The rest is merely their personal interpretation of it.

It's comforting to know that someone is going to take care of everything you do, good or bad. Especially the bad stuff. That just makes everyone else guilty... not you. *wink*

that's the beauty of having a spiritual side---we can argue and debate. however, for non-believers, they only know 'nothing' so there's not much to discuss. so they come here and spew their tired, old diatribe, insinuating and accusing, since they have nothing much to do.
