Or, did heaven get filled up (144,000 seating capacity) when Romans slaughtered all the Jews, so coming back would have been pointless?

Note: I am an atheist but am familiar with the bible and its myths.

The bible claims Jesus was coming back in the same generation he left. It either lied or there are some really, really old people running around.

"This generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place" (Matthew 24:34, Luke 21:32)

"These things" being the "second coming."

There is no such thing as a "Jewish race," so if that's what they were talking about, the bible is really wrong. Ethnic Jews & Arabs are the same "race."

I became an atheist by reading the bible and studying the issues involved. Such as the mulititude of silly interpretations for plain statements that have to be twisted to make them fit the myths.

The myths were written after the Temple was destroyed, that was not prophecy, it was history.

Heh....he didn't come back because he either never existed, or if he did, he was in no way supernatural or the "son of god". If he existed, he's just dead now.

I assume you are referring to Matthew 24:34 "...this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened."
The Greek word translated generation can mean race or family. The Jewish race will be here when Jesus returns.

By the way, Jesus said of the temple in Jerusalem "there shall not be one stone left on another." This was literally fulfilled in AD 70.

A question for you: Why would an atheist be so familiar with the Bible?

What's you chapter and verse where Jesus said He would return in the same generation He left? Hmmmmmmmmm??????

"This generation" in that passage was referring to the generation existing just before His 2nd coming. Some think that is this present day generation. He wasn't talking about the same generation He left from. You need study pal.
