I've tried them all - cold turkey, Zyban, patch, hypnosis, accupuncture. I know most of it is psycological and I have to actually TRY to quit. My Dr. claims Chantrix will work.

Don't confuse issues by saying most of it is "psychological". It is a physical addiction with psychological components.

I am sure you know that the rate of recidivism for people who quit smoking is the same as for people who quit heroin.

But you still really have to want to quit, no matter the method you try. Otherwise, you are wasting time - and almost every smoker who has tried to quit has made multiple efforts to do so.

Chantix has the highest reported success rate for quitting - 20% of the people who use it are still off cigarettes a year later. One in five is remarkable, when you consider it. Note that it is very new to the market.

Only give it a try, though, when you are really read to quit.

Good luck with it.

Hi Jim, what't Chantrix? I've personally tried (like M. Twain) so many times to stop and failed........that I'm sick of it...so I carry on with " my burden" . If you get any positive feed back maybe you'd care to share it . look forward to hear from you . my mail: sang_6@yahoo.com
