Playing great golf has a bit to do with feeling great-physically,mentally, and EMOTIONALLY. When everyone's great, this is really important. The Euro team has such a sense of pride, and this translate into their play. I think we rely to much on our skill, and don't really get "into" like the Euro team. This match play came down to putting, and we couldn't. Putting unlike most other golf shots, requires comfort, to be smooth. We all know who were the most comfortable out there. Euro team played great. Some guy commented that Americans can only beat up on other Americans. Let's not forget that Sergio and Monty is in all of the significant PGA events, and many other Euro players. Stroke play just requires more consistency, four days of individual play. One commentator said one reason Tiger is so good, is that he can wake up four days in a row and physically mentally and emotionally feeling great and play great-four days in a row.

Tiger Woods wins so many competitions that the other players generally had only one victory in a two year period. Too often when the match gets touch they watch Tiger zoom into the distance. A lot of the Europeans win on a regular basis maybe against lesser players but are used to the pressure of holing that putt, making that drive etc.

Also a lot of the best SA/ Aus/ Fijian golfers also win tournaments

I just think the Americans are NOT cut out for this format. The pairings are bad, the European team seems so much more in synche than we do. We should have definatley played alot better than we did. Look at the course. This was not your typical European course. It looked alot like many of the US courses that they play every week. No excuses ! Europe played better than we did & seemed to want it more also. Congrats to them as well as Darren Clarke who lost his wife 6 weeks ago. Talk about playing with heart.

Uh PETE 19 , If Tiger would not have been there the result would have been worse , he was the only one with a winning record after the three days , He can't do it himself !! everybody else has to sack up also !

Americana's have great players. The Europeans are a great team.
Look at the on the green, the Americana's have no team input ,where the Europeans constantly talk all the time.
Maybe they will learn the next time, but somehow i doubt it.

I seriously think that Tiger should make himself unavailable for a while.

I believe his presence is not condusive for a team atmosphere.

Controversial i know, but something to think about

This is only my opinion, but I believe they have good individual players but they do not gel as a team.
