by using their literature and points system? I can't really afford it anymore, I'm a student and all they do is weigh you. To be honest I don't see the value of staying to the meetings either, they just seem to be an hour long weightwatchers advert.

Thank goodness someone is listening!
You have finally seen the light!
Exercise more, eat less - weight doesn't matter just the ratio of fat to muscle.
Tone your muscles by exercise! You can weigh yourself at home for free - that is, if it is they weight that matters so much to you. If you can fit in to the size dress that you want to , then you are the right size. Stop making these takers rich - they are preying on you!

Yes people have left weight watchers and continued to remain at their preferred Weight. My sister did and in fact she became a Weight Watch ad visor for a couple of years. It should not be that all they do is weigh you. There should be positive encouragement sessions and stories of success and stories of having a struggle It should be that the trainer really helps you. Maybe you have not got a good inspirational leader. The points system if you can stick with it will always be the one answer. As a student I understand how difficult it is on little money to maintain the right eating habits Maybe it is time for Weight watchers to come up with student points systems. Good luck Don't give up

When i go to weight watchers i only get weighed, i only stayed for the talk afterwards once. I did think it was a load of cr*p to be honest. But i REALLY rate the weight watchers system of losing weight and it worked really well for me in the past. So i basically pay £4.95 to be weighed, but its just the satisfaction of someone telling me, "well done you've lost........." If you stick with the plan and don't attend the meetings theres no reason why you still can't continue to lose weight. Good luck with your weight loss!

Everybody I know who left weight watchers put the weight back on. I think you have to be a really stong person to do this diet on your own. Try and introduce a family member to help keep you in line. I find if you do some light exercise and do the point system you can still have your treats and maintain your weight. Good Luck.

I joined WW in Jan 03 and went from 11st 3lbs to 9st 6lbs in the June. Now I range between 9lbs 6lbs and 10st depending on how good I am. At one point I was at 8st 10lbs but I didn't like the way I looked so I try to maintain as I said before.I left WW early 2004 as I had found the light! I found that regular exercise is crucial if you want to keep it off otherwise you'll never eat anything half decent ever again! So that I CAN have the odd takeaway or chips instead of potatoes if I feel like it I try to exercise as much as I can. I lost the weight quite easily but as soon as I started walking then jogging the weight dropped off. I have since met a Fitness Instructor and fallen madly in love so he and I try our best but noone is a saint!

Keep eating lots of vegetables in exciting ways and avoid starchy foods like crisps and bread unless you are exercising regularly.

Good luck!

I'm in the same situation...

No is my answer because I have no will power...

...without being forced to feel that shame of getting on the scales and seeing an extra pound creep on because i chose to eat that chocolate bar.

Without the shame, I will tend to just eat the chocolate bar and then the other one!!!

But i havent gained a tremendous amount of weight since leaving either. Its all about will power in my opinion.

Oh, and have you tried those new Highlights from Cadbury's??? Little bags of biscuits and chocolate, one bag only 1.5 points! Delicious!!!!!

i can't do it! seems i need to be accountable to someone else. my sister however, does it online and has been just fine. you weugh yourself once a week, and report in to your online file. i think it only costs about what one meeting costs, but for the whole month. try it out, it may work for you too. good luck!
