Most people today, no matter what others say, think they are going to Heaven. However, the scriptures say that only a certain number will go there. I will give you a hint, it is in the book of Revelation. What is that number and tell me the requirements that these people must have before going there. The floor is yours...

The above posters are, without exception, all wrong!
Revelations 14:1-3 " I saw, and, look! the Lamb(Jesus Christ) standing upon Mount Zion(in heaven;see Hebrews 12:22-24), and with him a hundred and forty four thousand having his name and the name of his Father written on their foreheads...And they are singing as if a new song... and no one was able to master that song but the hundred and forty four thousand, who have been bought from the earth."
These are not natural Jews, because the "tribes" are mentioned in Rev 7:4-8 and among them is mentioned the tribe of Joseph, and there never was such a tribe. Also the tribes of Ephraim and Dan are not included.
Those 144,000 are referred to by true Christians as the anointed. 2Thess. 2:13,14"We are obligated to thank God always for you, brothers loved by Jehovah, because God selected you from the beginning for salvation by sanctifying you with spirit and by your faith in the truth. To this very destiny he called you through the good news we declare, for the purpose of acquiring the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ."
No where in the Bible does it say everyone will go to heaven. That is an unscriptural teaching shunned by true christians

The 144,000 is not the number of people who are getting into heaven, that's a Jehovah Witness lie, The 144,000 are the Jewish converts that will witness to the other Jews, 12,000 from each of the tribes of Israel. The Jew's have twisted this scripture to mean something else that is not true. It has nothing to do with the actual numbers of people who will be saved and go to heaven, only God knows how many will truly make it.

144,000 is the number of people sealed away (locked away until their time is ripe), not the number of people going to heaven, dont jump the gun. ALso just because the bible says it doesnt make it true. If you think that just because the bible says it, its truth, maybe I should put you on Santa's naugthy list.

Only Jehovah's Witnesses believe that only 144,000 JW's will go to Heaven. The number refers to Jewish evangelists in the Tribulation period who will preach the gospel.

The exact amount is 144,000 and it is only refering to the 12 tribes that decended from Jacob, thus yes we are all able to enter heaven.

If you read that passage correctly, and in context, you will find it is not a total number of people that will go to Heaven.

12,000 from the 12 tribes = 144,000

Heaven was filled up in the 2nd Century when the Romans burned Jerusalem to the ground.

Jews do not recognize the New Testament or Jesus, so this "prophecy" has no meaning whatsoever to Jews.

144,000. The meaning depends on who you ask, since every christian interprets the bible differently. Im an atheist, so think of the time I save. :-)
