I have a couple of dogs that do this. My mom's terrier mix will even lick the floor or the furniture when there is not a person who she can lick. The vet told us she has Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and that this is her way of showing us that she wants nothing more than to please us. The requires special training and medicine just as it does in people. Go see your vet, they will be able to give you the meds and the name of a trainer.
My mom's dog isn't cured, but she is a lot better about the licking problem. Good luck!!!

Actually, that's a nice problem to have. It sure beats having a vicious one. Avoid the pepper. Avoid pulling the tongue. Instead spray some water on the dog when she starts licking someone. Use a spray bottle. DO NOT abuse her.

LOL! Woaw! Thats some effectionate loving dog you got there! Try giving it a bone or a snack whenever you arrive or someone arrives. That might keep it preoccupied for a while. Maybe the dog wants a relationship with another dog?

first of all, i could advise exercising habitual the dogs every time it starts to lick its paws. This habit may well be from boredom. If the exercising does not paintings, you could attempt an E-collar, however the suitable concern could be to take the dogs to a vet.
