this day and age its you work together .ward and june cleaver is gone there might be people out there but they are few and far between.you share the house dutys cleaning cooking if you have kids you have to work extra hard if you are a male thinking this way you must have been in a cave that is the way we do it in our family not for eveyone but it works for us

if she is a stay at home wife then she should handle everything, cooking, cleaning, finances shopping, kids etc, If she works full time the the duties should be split 50/50
