She is a one-year old spayed female, whom we've had since she was eight weeks old. She has always used the litter box like a champ; however, about a week ago, she pooped on the carpet. It didn't happen again, so I dismissed it. A few minutes ago, I was stretched out on the sofa, she jumps on top of me and PEES ON MY LEG!!!!! Can someone help me!? What is going on with this cat!? Her litter box is perfectly clean. She has plenty of food and water, and we shower her with attention! She has been acting rather strangely lately, meowing a lot for no reason. HELP!!!

As for her being spayed, I paid for the surgery, and she stayed overnight at the vet's. When I brought her home, her tummy was shaved, and she had an incision. (???)

Either she's suffering from some kind of internal distress or she's been possessed by the depraved spirit of Senator Packwood. Strangely enough, some pets use their bathroom functions as a way to signal trouble. My late cat would do that and we found out he had pancreatic issues.
Take her to a vet, and good luck!

Well there are a couple reasons for this. Do you clean her litter box regularly? Most cats are very picky about where they do their buisiness and cats are very clean animals so if their pottie isnt clean they'll go somewhere else. The other reason could be that she has crystals in her urine. The crystals make it stig when a cat pees, but the cat thinks it's the littler box so they just go somewhere else. My cat faced this problem about a year ago and the best thing you can do is to talk to you're vet about it and they'll probably put you're cat on a diet to keep the crystal from entering her bladder ever again. If you don't want to take it to the vet they will most likely put her on Science Diet for cats and the age group that applys to her, which you can buy in most pet stores.

She might not be feeling well, maybe she has a urinary tract infection. Often when cats get these they quit using the litterbox.l It is assumed that because it causes them pain to urinate, they associate the litter box as the cause and are reluctant to go back to it. I suggest a trip to the vet to rule out medical problems first.

Cats generally make their people with the scent glands under their chin so I doubt she is scent marking. If she has been drinking a lot of water that could be a sign of uninary problems. I would take her to the vet. It could be serious.
Good Luck! Shiraz, Gibson, Tank, Ollie and I are praying for you and yours.

I am absolute certain that this is a "message" for you. It is a sure way to get your attention and cats know this. Something is wrong in her urinary tract and she wants help.
I remember being totally shocked when one of my cats came in the morning and peed on my hair! He was definitely hurting from urinary burning and the vet treated him that very day.

Are you sure she's spayed? Have you been around strange cats that she may smell on you? Have you changed what you use to clean the room where her box is?

She may have a UTI, take her to the vet. If shes peeing on you and crying alot and it is an UTI then shes in alot of pain. It takes alot to make a dog or cat complain that theres something wrong.

Sounds like a urinary tract infection. If you can take a sample of urine when she pees and have it analysed, or take her to the vet.
Also, have you been petting other animals she could smell on you?
