My mom used to say this... a lot. lol It usually meant everything would be taken away from me... stereo, tv, phone... no going anywhere, no one to come over. And that was pure hell for a 14 yr old.

I dont know if it means they are supposedly going to "hell" or not.
Maby they want to scare the child. or then again they may just get a beating when they get home if theyre not careful...or be in severe trouble...

Obviously a mis-use of language; however maybe it conveys to the child that when they get home she/he is going to get a bit of a sampling of what the torments of Hell are like?

well id look on it as if you catch you are reciving something or getting it and hell well so maybe that ment you are in a lot of trouble etc.
