Adherents.com doesn't strive for accuracy, but it has thousands and thousands of statistics taken from other sources. As it links directly to the sources and shows comparisons between the different ones, it's a great database.

Probably Encarta. Anything on-line encyclopedia (NOT WIKIPEDIA!) will have good information. Wikipedia is not a reliable source.
