Does that mean if Allah wanted to say, invite Buddha over for a cup of tea he would give an invitation to muhammad who would fly over to India on his flying carpet to deliver it?

About your first question, mate: Muhammad is Allah's messenger because he spread Allah's words to us humans. But the second question: what's your point?

Your first question was a good one. The 2nd one is just plain silly.

According to Muslim belief, Islam, Muhammed is a prophet, a messanger of God. He is the greatest and last prophet to be sent by God. Muhammed came to finish where Jesus left off.

A prophet is someone who God sends to us to teach us about God. Muslims are the only ones that believe Muhammed was a true prophet. Christians believe Jesus was the last prophet because He did the ultimate sacrifice and redeemed our sins.

The Archangel Gabriel revealed the Quran to Muhammed. Muhammed is the prophet who disseminated the Quran to the peoples in his region, hence... he is the messenger.

That is Funny. Buddha have hundred of messenger but all of their messenger are all teaching non violent, love, forgiveness, kindness.
