If most claim that the winner was Blessed, or God chose him or her to be the Winner, or was predistined to win a chance in ones lifetime, how does the Christian practice prohibit such participation?

As a Christian I believe that God is our source. He provided me with a job, and a salary. I give faithfully to God's work, through my church and other organisations, and to some individuals. I believe that God is my source, and so I don't need to do the lottery. God's purpose for me is not to get rich in wealth, but all that I own is already His. When God provides for things I cannot afford, then I know that He is indeed my provider. He has never let me down. The love of money is the root of all evil, and in participating in the lottery, I would really be saying, "I don't need God." I trust God - so I don't need to gamble.

Remember the Cake Walks in the Catholic Church? You buy a ticket, walk around these numbered squares on the ground (pavement), when the music stops, the guy on the right number wins a cake.
Lottery Tickets are Legal. Dose that make it right with GOD?
Are you feeding your family?
Are you paying your bills?
Do you go extreme in buying Lottery Tickets?
You can make a Sin out of Anything. And alot of sins to you(if its not in the Bible, clearly outlined, then its between you and GOD if its a Sin), might not be a sin to others.
If the Gov. makes a Law and you know that Law is against GODs Word, that Law out to be Changed.
I haven't found much about gambling in the Bible yet.
Chance happens to all men.
Lets figure this one out.

I bought a lottery ticket just once but I didn't win - the way I look at it is if you buy one once you improve your chances from zero to one in forty-seven milllion or whatever, but buy one again and your chances are still the same it's just another trial of the same odds.

But since I've become a Quaker I haven't gambled as it's not encouraged even raffles. I think the thinking is that it isn't a responsible use of your money and you get something for nothing in effect.

There was this devote man who worshiped God.
He woke up and worshiped God, gave God glory at every possible moment. He gave tidings of money, time, and his talent to God. God was well pleased with this man.

One day this man came upon hardships and lost his job, his wife got cancer, and his children were all depending on him. He prayed to God, "God, I have been a faithful servant would you grant me the winning lottery ticket so that I may provide for my family?"

A few weeks went by and the man kept worshiping and praying to God giving thanks and asking for the winning lottery ticket. Each week, the man was spiritually blessed and he felt God's love, but didn't get the winning lottery ticket. He lost his house, and the family had to live in their car. Still, the man was devoted in praying to God giving thanks and asking for the winning lottery ticket.

Well, the man was hanging from his last string, and begging God to let him win the lottery ticket. Then a loud thunderous voice replied to the man, "If you want to win the lottery, you have to help me out and you have to buy a ticket".

I don't see that Christians can prohibit participation in lotteries. Most churches have summer fetes, don't they, and there is always a tombola stall. That is a lottery to win a lucky number .

Christians should not engage in gambling. Then again we all do things that we are not supposed to do and I am a christian and I personally do not think that anybody who buys a lotto ticket is going to hell. I have a tattoo. I also like to smoke weed. I am a good person and I love God and love to study His word. I try to follow His word, I don't think that I am going to hell because I do these things.

Gambling is a sin because it relies on pure luck in order to achive. It does not require any work. Everyone in the Bible who achieved success (and God does not mind success) got there through hard work and faith. Also, why would you apply? it's to get money, nothing else. After all.the Love of money is the root of all evil.

God's blessing does not come from sinning (gambling).
God's blessings come from obedience to His word.

If you win a lottery, its from satan, not God. And satan's gifts always come with a string attached to get you to spend eternal damnation with him in hell.

Blessings from God, are unconditional, sincere and because He loves us and hears us.
