Call the local county sheriff's dept and ask. They will tell you, and if its for something minor, you may be able to contact the entity who has requested the warrant and 'fix' the problem and have the warrant quashed.

Most states have court websites. I would google the name of that state and then the word "courts" or "judiciary". Court information is public record. Once you find the website there should be a link for search case records. From there you can search by case number or name. Once you find your case, if the status says "W" you have a warrant. You can also call the courts for that state. They will give you the information you need.

Note: I am sure about this information for the State of Maryland. I could probably help you out more if I knew what state the city was in.

PS- The information that other people are givng you is wrong. Most law enforcement entities are not allowed to tell someone if they have a warrant. The court on the other hand, is allowed to tell you. But the best thing is always to turn yourself in. It is the best way to know for sure.

Call the records division of the city/or county and talk to one of the clerks. If you do have one, you can arrange to turn yourself in. Jails are so overcrowded nowadays, if the warrant is under a certain amount of money, they will simply write you yet another ticket just to clear the warrant from the system.

Call the police department for that city and the sheriffs department for the county that city is in and ask for the warrant desks, but don't call from your home phone.
