i'm not sure that works when you are both working. that's how my mom was (until she started working full-time) but on the other hand, my dad always helped around the house too. i believe in "give and take."

I would only keep him happy as long as he is willing to make you happy.....don't fake your relationship....the good wives guide is in the past...it rarely happen anymore. Anyways if you become this good wife that he can walk all over, then, he will eventually cheat on you, rape you or start becoming violent because he will know that you'll let him get away with it, because you are a "good" wife. There is nothing wrong with cleaning the house or preparing him dinner. But if you work also, I believe that he needs to help out to. Later down the road you'll find out that taking care of the children, cleaning the house, preparing dinner and going to work is not only hard to do, but is also unfair if all your husband has to do is just go to work and be pleased by you. You didn't give much detail on your situation, but good luck in your relationship.

I'm 34, married 10 years. "Yes" we made the double digits...lol

I don't believe in "Good wife's guide" I believe in mutual respect, and caring enough about one another to share the house work when "needed" the kids,etc.....My husband works very hard to provide for my self and our kids. Yet he doesn't expect me to make dinner, and come home to a tidy house. I do things that you mentioned because "I" enjoy coming home to a nice clean environment, and I cook because "I" enjoy it. We find time for each other and have our date nights as well. He cooks for me at times, and helps out with the kids, and does laundry too. It's called a "couples guide" not "wife guide".
