the amount of questions you get on here like does he love me? how do i know if she loves me? he says he loves me but...? and so on...I dont understand this need for reassurance we all have . I am romantic and i believe in the concept of true love but it is so easy to say this and then it goes to pot 3 years later. I have a friend of many years( yes a guy, lol) and i know he loves me and he knows i love him...we have slept together before and will do again but i moved away and even now we call when we think of each other, not when we expect to be called by the other and we know what makes other tick so well and we have told each other that whatever we have and whenever we have it we know its a forever thing between us...we are so close.i have been married twice, once to someone who professed to love me and was jealous and had a violent temper, that love didnt last long, the other again professing to love me but his conditions were too many, power freak! Why do these words mean so much?

for crni: no we weren't i got married ist time very young and i didnt know my friend then, my 1st husband was just nasty.I met him at the beginning of my second marriage and i was with my 2nd husband for 9 years, we split 2 years ago and it was after this that we slept together for the first time although our friendship was always very close, and still is...but my 2nd husband was a control freak and a very scary guy although not physically violent with me...just threats and mental crap...its not the point anyways its that you can love someone and they can love you without words that can later mean nothing...the love is what counts, not saying it ...the staying power is in the feelng not the words

I was wandering about same thing and not just once.

I mean - love is not a word. When you say ILY, that is not love, but when you show that even without saying.
Love is in voice he/she addresses to you, in respect, in way the person treats you, in touch, in eyes, but not in words.

I would prefer to have someone who would love me, but never tell me instead of someone that swears that love me, but never show so. I'd prefer never to hear words ILY as long as I know that I am loved.

Don't you use this word while you talk about the relationships you had and you still have .You can say i feel attracted,i feel lust, or i fancy you.underlying meaning is the same both the waysvis-avis..Few pple use this word in a loose way. The word love has a meaning .Even while you question and tell about yourself you do talk about how an individual loves you or atleast claims to love you.

There is nothing in the words and nobody can say whether love lasts ..you know but pple say because at that very moment they feel it and some say because they don't know the depth of the meaning and hence just make a casual comment. .As far as the reassurance part of it is concerned let me tell you not all are self assured, assertive and confident..it would be wrong to expect people around to be just like us.There are few who are clingy and insecure.for them these words make a difference .Words for few others are just slangs or they say it bcoz it is in vogue to say it and not because they feel it..u know the flirt types..

Hopefully you two weren't sleeping together while you were married because then it's easy to see why one of them had a short temper
