Yes, actually my sister used to tell her, "You're the meanest mother in the whole world." She also told her, "You're the best mother in the whole world." 'cause mean meant strict and strict is loving.

Yes very much! My mother use to beat me with her fist when I was growing up. She is still mean, when I was pregnant she tried to hit me because I was tapping a ketchup bottle and she didnt like the sound. Fact is, even though she is very mean, I still love her very much and I want the best for her. By her being mean and very cold to me I have learned how to show my daughter real love and know the things I should never say to hurt her emotionally.

Yep, i'm 30 and have only recently figured out i don't give a ratsarse that she is mean. Pretends to be lovely to the world and is a ***** to her kids.
It has just made me a better parent, I know how NOT to behave.

i have a mom, and a mother in law. they're both OK. when i was little my mom made me eat lots of stuff i didnt like, and made me go to bed early.
