I'm a safety manager so I think I'll give this one a shot, they are called safety pins because vs. a regular pin they will not poke you while in use, sort like a safety knife, or a box blade with guards on the side and retractable blade. This is especially good for pants if you are a guy..so you don't get poked in the nutz.....ouch.

No I don't think so, anything with a sharp tip cant be safe, maybe handy but I don't think safe. I got stuck with a safety pin before when my button popped off, My opinion I was better without one, that really hurt.

when i was a punk in the late 70s i had a safety pin thru my mouth so it wasn't very safe but at the time fashionable

Yes are they are. And they don't slip out of your nose like regular pins do.

safer than other pins etc as there is less chance of them just coming open. they should not be given to kids etc, as they do open quite easily. depends on the usage.

compared to normal pins they are less likely to prick you, so yes, they are safer. Doesnt stop them being sharp if mishandled though!

They are safer than regular sewing needles cause they clasp together and so don't poke you

safety pins are most commonly used by any one for most purposes .mishandling of them may couse pain....But it will not cause death so it is safe.....................................
If you think it is not safe , don't use it tomorrow onwards........
