This varies from country to country since standards differ.(I am sober for last 18 years) if my memory serves me right a bottle of whiskey of 750 ml consists of 13 pegs or shots. (in fact 13.5 but 1/2 is allowed as losses during pouring) So each shot comes out to be 55.5 ml

25 ml in plane and bars BUT standard is 30 ml

cats is correct. A shot is 1.5 oz or 45ml. A pony shot, which some people use instead of a regular shot, is 1 oz, or 30ml.

I don't know where you're getting 1 1/2 oz. shots at. In my bar, (and most bars) we pour 1 1/4 oz.
