I thought I was the only poor idiot who checked locks constantly. At least twice on each of the front and back door and same with car. Also got a thing about travel docs and contents of my handbag.
I did hear of one guy with keyless entry on his car with this kind of ocd and couldn't understand why car was still unlocked every time he went back to check it - go figure!

I don't have any like that, but you know they make medication that can seriously help you....An old boyfriend of mine did similar things, he would keep driving back home to check things, like first to see if he left the iron on, then to see if he really locked the door, then to double check that the iron was off and the door locked...he was late for everything, including work, and finally I convinced him to go see a doctor, where he was diagnosed and treated with medication, and is now living a normal life

Mine change as I grow over the years. It used to be making sure I stepped on every third crack on the pavement (to stop the earth from cracking open). Then it was eating all the M&Ms except the blue ones in sequence (or else I'd die of indigestion). I also had this thing about only eating at a specific hour and minute of the day (so the calories won't count), writing and re-writing my essays (or else I will fail and by fail I mean less than 90%), and another one about chewing at least 47 times each spoonful I eat (or else I'd choke).
I seem to outgrow or substitute them with others though, so it's only a matter of time.

My Ocd is simular to yours in a way although i do other things as well as checking. When i go downstairs or leave the house i check. check again and recheck to make sure plugs water windows are off.Its like i cant trust my own mind although i know ive checked already i think i may be wrong.I also like things tidy, clean and matching in the home yet dress very casual myself.Im 55 and ive been told have hereditary COD which along with anxiety and depression it is doubtfull theres a cure.

i notice theres a few people saying OCD can be treated with medication, and thats totally true, but just be careful - some of the stuff can do more harm than good. some of it is great, but just be careful.

i always have to put on my right shoe before my left, which is kinda strange....
