Ok, this is gross but yesterday we had our carpets cleaned, we kept her off of it for a while but she came out when it was pretty much dry, when i woke up this morning there were three chuncky piles of throw up scattered through out the living room, now that ive been up i have found 5 more piles but they are liquid only. i put her in the bathroom with all her stuff, water, litter box toy and bed. i went to check on her about 15 minutes later and another pile just liquid. i dont know if she drank any but we took her food away, dont want her to get dehydrated. does she need to go to the vet or let her get whatever out of her system?

they dont look pale but ive never really looked at them before. they are grey. also normally when she is very social and normally when she is locked alone she cries and cries because she hates it well today she isnt being as vocal. i just went ot check on her again no new piles but she was just sitting in her bed which she loves but she hasnt meowd once to get out of the bathroom and she isnt fighting me too much to get out. im guessing i might have to go to the vet but should i give her some time to see if she keeps throwing up or not? ive only had her a year, she was 7 months when we got her and shes never done this before

We will all be so relieved to know that a vet will check her out. I would say it was definitely something in the carpet cleaning products -- I would take the company to small claims court to get the money for the cleaning refunded and the bill for the emergency vet back too. Many companies will just not bother to go to court -- it's more economical for them to pay your claim. A judge might disallow the vet bill and you will still have made a point. I always ask strong questions of people doing things around my house to determine if they will assure me that there is nothing in their products that could possibly harm my cats.

I am sure the vomiting has gotten most of the stuff out of her system and she will be feeling better soon. When she returns feed her some jarred baby meat from the supermarkter. Chicken or turkey would be the easiest on her digestive system. Make sure to read the label and be sure it contains NO onion or garlic powder. Feed it to her from your finger to get her started. Fasting for a day would be great for her too if she does not want to eat today - it will give her digestive tract a rest. If the vet gives her fluids that is sufficient for today. Start the meat tomorrow.

I have found that club soda works well for carpet stains from vomiting. It neutralizes the acid from the stomach. Let it dry for a day and treat with a cleaner such as Nature's Miracle or other to remove any staining left.

Good luck for you and kitty. Hope all will be well and that she will recover and be her old self soon.

TAKE HER TO THE VET. Do not let ANY odd symptoms strike you as "normal". Example: My cat Molly was throwing up all the time and could barely get food down. We waited a few months (she had lost a lot of weight) and took her to the vet. Turns out she had mouth cancer and couldn't eat because the roof of her mouth was raw. We had to put her down because she was suffering. Now, had we taken her in earlier, maybe we could have kept her around a bit longer, or maybe even got her radiation therapy. Don't get worried quite yet... just take her in and see what the doc says. Better safe than sorry!

It might have been the food that you gave her.You say you took the food away and she stopped vomitting. My cat can only eat certain cat food.It can't have any liver or dairy in it.And it has to be for hairballs too.I did not know that until I took her to the vet bacause she became real weak from vomitting so much.I know alot of cats have problems with liver because it is harder for them to digest properly.
So you might want to change the food and see how it works. I would recommend, that when you buy cat food, look on the ingredients to see what is in it.Maybe the cat food you have now has something in it that she should not have.
Good luck and tell your kitty I said get better soon.

I hope, by now, your cat's got better or you've taken her to the vet.
You could ask your vet what chemicals could be in the carpet that could hurt your cat.
If there are any and they have then definitely get back to the carpet company, if only to let them know for the future.

VETS !!! Could be poisoned as cats love carpet, its not worth leaving her, she may need drip to wash it out of body and keep fluids up. Ring vets for advice. She should be ok better to be safe than sorry. Goodluck hope every thing is ok with her

Definitely take her to the vet. Chances are she did get some of the carpet cleaning stuff in her because "pretty much dry" isn't dry enough.

If she gets any more dehydrated she will die.

Honey she might be trying to get rid of a hairball. and is having trouble throwing it up. It woudn't hurt to take her in to have her checked. Also there could be something else lodged in her throat. Maybe try feeding her something once more, and see if it will come up. Try to confine her to an area that she won't make a mess on carpeting. I wish you all the best. I am a cat lover too.

You need to take her to the Vet ASAP, I have two cats and one thing i know chemicals are life threatening to cats. She may have come in contact with the cleaning solution of the carpet.
