A savings bond is a great way to give something to the baby that will grow with him/her. It's also a way to spend half of what you give.

Here is a neat idea I heard from one of my friends:

If you're attending the event, take a disposable camera and get pictures of the event, including as many important moments as you can (you can use a digital if you want to print the photos yourself). Give a card to the baby's parents that expresses your warm wishes, and enclose a note that says the gift is personalized and will arrive in a few days.

Next, get those photos developed ASAP, and buy a nice multiple-photo frame (these run about $10 and up). In one hole, place a nicely-printed certificate-style thing that says, for example:

BRIANNA JOHNSON'S CHRISTENING
December 12, 2004
Parents: Jenny Johnson
Mark Johnson
Sponsors: Annette Johnson (grandmother)
Byron Johnson (grandfather)
Date of Birth: December 4, 2004

You've listed all the pertinent information, which will be nice for future reference - now fill up those other spaces with the best pictures, and put a ribbon around the ones you didn't use. Wrap carefully, and deliver to the proud parents! It's a well-put-together memory of a day they'll treasure - not to mention that with a baby in the house, it's probably something they wouldn't have time to do themselves.

Hope this helps!
Nina

A personalized Bible
A picture frame that says "baby's christening"
A photo album for the day
A keepsake necklace, bracelet, etc.
I also saw a frame once for Christening, Confirmation and other certifiates. It had space for two or three certificates.

Go to the store "Things Remembered" or another store like it and you can find all sorts of keepsake items that you can have engraved with the info like baby's name, and christening date. It's not too expensive and it will last a very long time.

How about a de-baptism certificate for the child, to liberate the child from the original mumbo-jumbo that liberated the child from the original sin the child never had. Link provided below.

I give gifts of stock in a company... There are many to choose from even starting as low as $50.oo. This is a good way to give a child something for their future.

If you are looking for more HOLY gifts... I leave that up to the rest for they get plenty of that stuff.

Happy Sunday! : )

have some trees planted on the babys behalf, good for the environment and he can go visit them when he is older. The Woodland Trust do a good package for gift planting :)
