There are so many things to do in NYC ...
- take a walk around Central Park. Before you go into the park go to Market Foods which is downstairs at the Time Warner Building, get some food/drink and have a little picnic when you're in the park.
- take a look at the Dakota building and then sit in Strawberry Fields and remember the legend that was Lennon (you might see Yoko whilst you're sat there).
- Take the Staton Island Ferry to see the Statue of Liberty. It's free and you get a great view of it (and great photo ops for downtown Manhatten).
- Go to the top of the Empire state and make sure to take the audio tour. I've not been a fan of audio tours until I'd done this one - it kept second guessing what I was thinking.
- Go to the top of the Rock (Rockerfeller Centre) - when at the top keep going up to the very top for a great photo op with the Empire State building in the background.
- Depending on what your budget is like you could take a helicopter tour around the city. The range from 2 mintues to 15 minutes long.
- Ground Zero - pay your respect to those who lost their lives.
- Times Square - it's just an amazing place to stroll around - and don't forget to look out for the Naked Cowboy!!
I hope you enjoy your trip - NYC is such a great city.

The Intrepid museum is cool- it has a museum, the big boat Intrepid and the last Concorde. Sony Wonders Tech Lab is cool. http://www.sonywonders.com/ You might also enjoy just walking around and sight-seeing- the Public Library, Times Square, Bryant Park... Duck tours are cool to. A car that gives you a tour of the city, then drives into the water and floats around the Hudson and East rivers.
An above user mentioned Mars 2112. It is a big restaurant centered around aliens. To enter you go through a really cool motion simulator of a spaceship, them the food is on Martian plates. There is a dancing alien in front, and lots of cool lights are around the room, for instance one that, when you turn your head, you see an apple for half a second. There is a gift shop and really cool food. After you have eaten, they "beam" you back to NYC. http://www.mars2112.com/ That is lunch for you!
Then, there's always the good old Circle Line ferries to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, a must-do. Get to the Circle Line offices via Battery Park.
The Empire State Building looks ominous when you walk up to it, but seeing the Big Apple from the top is a must-do. While you're at it, go to the 9/11 memorial.
The tours are fascinating, of the Empire State Building and the United Nations building.
There's always museums. The Smithsonian Institute is in NY, but there's always the good ol' Museum of Natural History, with huge whales and dinosaur bones...
Enjoy your trip!

Tour around a little then go to a good restaurant for a nice meal, after that you can freshen up before going to the show. Later, perhaps you can do some more touring and shopping.
