Maybe he just wants to be around you, on his terms. Sometimes, we might crave company, while other times, we just push it away.

If you like him, and you're willing to work it out with him, wait around until he comes to you. Giving him space was probably a good idea. Rebound relationships are usually the worst.

If you're having a hard time reading his behaviour, ask him straight out.

He didnt tell you he wasnt interest he said he wasnt ready for a relationship. It has only been a week give it sometime and give him some more space. After being around you he might change his mind. You dont want to be the rebound and he goes back to his ex.

Of course im not him so this will only be a guess, but i think he wants you too still act liek you like him, he feels like hes pushed you away and dosent know hwo to tell you that, so hes dune the only thing he feels he can do, he follows you, hes not stalking or beying wired! its normal :) sit him down and say that you still like him and you are waiting by him till hes ready :) should help him alot to know you do care! dont leave him alone give him space but still act liek you normaly do or he will see it as a sign of rejection,
good luck

Sounds like he just doesn't want to come on too strong, let him take the lead and things should be fine in a few weeks.

he may not be ready for a relationship but that doesn't mean he dislikes you and is going to ignore you. he likes you as a person, enjoys your company and wants to be friends with you.

it means he's thinking of you and perhaps regretting what he said to you.

he might have said no to you last week as a kneejerk reaction (as relationship = hurt) , but now he's had time to think, he's considering a relationship with you might be good.
