Because gay people can get conned by religion like anyone else. Christian churches don't care who you are and what you do, as long as you keep tithing.

Well Nither the Bible or the Qaran advocate killing anyone, not homosexuals not witches. Both Religions spell out pretty clearly that murder is sin. And there are a few religions other than these two, most of which have no opinion on Homosexuality whatsoever. The few Homosexuals that I know who are Christian have an immense amount of self loathing. The understand they are homosexual but they think it is something they can overcome with God's help. You'll note that I mention know in the present tense, they're still having sex with men and will continue to want to no matter how hard they pray.

Ye were created so there for you are. Cast awayith all ye who judge, let man lust unto woman and man, let women lust onto woman and and man, let us all live in harmony and peace for ye have one life, let ye liveth to thy fullith, let ye embrace they self and judge not they self, let ye believe in they self for mankind can be cruel love and ye shall be not cast away! Okay that is from Michele's book of no sense. You shouldn't worry so much. Believe in what you want and forget whoever tells you that you are wrong even if it is in the Bible. Sorry about joking around before but I was trying to lighten you up. I'm sure this is serious to you but just be you as God created you and you'll be okay. Oh yea I'm Catholic. Whatever that means. Remember there are a lot of mean people so ignore the ignorant comments.

That's a good question,I believe that Gods is a forgiving God,If a person ask for forgiveness an mean it from there hearts God would indeed forgive them, but if you continue with the unnatural acts (according to the bible) you surely be put to death. I don't agree with it but it's written.I have many friends and family remember that are gay & lesbian and it dont stop them from appearing in church or reading the bible...

I'd imagine, in Christianity, it's because the Old Testament no longer applies and instead Christians fall under the New Covenant of grace.
Also, in modren Judaism, it's rare to find any major problems with homosexuality. Homosexuals are looked at as being "unfulfilled" because they can't have children, but besides that, not many groups have problems with it.

Peer pressure. It is what the majority of our society sees as "moral"... to ostracize those who are different if they do not conform to their way of thinking. So many of them try to be part of the group. Of course, they are usually looked down on, even when they give up their sexual activities.
People who do this based on difference are not much better than the primitive people of old. The only difference, it's against the law, now, to stone people to death. But I have no doubt that there are some out there that would do just that if they thought they could get away with it.

In Islamic ruled countries hanging is used if you are queer one bit it doesnt matter if your a man or a woman or your under 18 you still face the punishment.
If you look at the news in Iran two young boys aged 16 and 17 were hanged for being queer .

Because a person can find a way to justify anything they want. I heard someone say just yesterday that God approved of his gay marriage and that he was attending a church with his husband and had been for years as a happy couple. You can lie to yourself, but you cannot lie to God. I cannot judge the man or his claims as I am not God. However, I will say he may have much to answer for when his number is pulled. But that will be between him and God. I will answer for my own sins and they will not include judging someone for their lifestyle.

this is a huge debate question that perhaps shouldn't be asked in public this way mainly because it involves personal belief systems, and person belief systems aren't debatable. they are, but nothing will ever get solved, people will not bend to your way of thinking in regard to faith if they have their own, and the Bible has been changed, with many different versions...books have been removed ,left out (Enoch is an example). nobody can be totally sure the Bible is God's word. believing the Bible for what it is intended to be is based on *faith.*
now, you're talking about homosexuality. i am not homosexual, yet i have more than one point for you to consider:
God, or Creator...if you believe in a God and Creator, created everything. *everything.* it's been scientifically researched and they have found the particular genes that are responsible for whether we are gay or not gay. now..if God didn't create that, who did? if you believe God is the Creator, you must accept that God created all things to be what they are. our narrow-minded human perspective about sexuality is all based on culture and society, nothing more. (btw, aren't you so glad you were born with the hetero-gene instead of the homo-gene? oh, man. if it went the other way, people would be slamming you like this.)
also, in ancient times homosexuals were considered to be revered by heterosexuals. they were closer to God, and very much respected in their communities, clans, what have you. they were considered to have divine gifts and knowledge. in modern times, female homosexuals are much more accepted than gay men. in fact, most people are turned on by it..just look in their secret collection of porn and fantasies. why is that ok i wonder?
it's a huge world out there. step out of your little Christian box and take a peek. especially, look into history.
the Bible may have been written according to the influence of God, but it was written through the minds of people. it is human nature for people to put a bias, or a slant in their writings. even The word of God will go through the human mind and be filtered.
do you agree with *every* book in the Bible?
can you name the man who was most chauvanistic toward women?
people weren't perfect, even those who wrote the Bible. the Bible is a product of human hands inspired by Godly ideas. the human filter will remain.
this is why i stay away from organized religion. it's brainwashing.
however, i have a very close relationship with Creator. Creator has shown me that there are so many paths to him....so that *each individual* can find their way to him..leaving nobody out. that is Creator's love and acceptance. He knows we think differently. this is how Creator made us, of course we will need different ways to be close to God! anyone, *anyone* can have a way to know him/her, and if you could see all the paths, all the religions leading to God, you would probably see something like a huge web.
try to see the bigger picture. study up on your history, and open your mind. someone could have handed you *any* book as a child or adult and said, "believe in this or you will go to hell. what? this doesn't make sense? no worries, you just have to have faith, believe it anyway even if it makes absolutely no sense." you would believe it, because Christianity is the predominant faith at least in where i live, and to not be Christian (i live in the Bible Belt) is to be seen as evil. society tries to *make* us be Christian. you either see the light, as they say, or you don't. you see what really is instead.
never mind that there were bloody wars constantly back then, and that the times and people were crude and turbulent.
there is a much larger picture than what you are seeing.

To tell you the truth I don't know. A lot of churches are accepting gay men and women. Remember, we do not live by the old testament rules now, since Jesus died on the cross for us, so you might want to ask your pastor conserning this subject and get his info on it.

this is a very hard question. if you have been raised to belive one truth it is very hard to change ur beliefs so even ur religion does cast u away (which i believe is prejudiced and unfair) it is hard to stop beliving. people in this world try to find comfort where they can and if their religion brought them comfort as a child it would be very hard to let go of even though it has let go of tehm because they are gay. or maby ppl just belive that if god is loving and forgiving he will forgive their so called 'sin' and take them back in the end
