I don't think it is that important. Most names in the Bible are titles that teach you something about God. Titles might be important to know and understand, but I doubt essential for your faith.

You might want to realize how important your name is? If it wasn't relative to who we are then all of us would have the same name or none at all. You may conclude that chaos would insue if we didn't have something to personally identify ourselves. It was important enough that God gave his first human creation a name (Adam) and that he instructed Adam to name the animals. It stands to reason that God himself would have a name being "God" is a title. Afterall, Satan is referred to as "the god of this system". The Bible account uses God's name "Jehovah" over 6,000 times. Sadly, many translations have extracted it from their pressings. How would you feel if someone erased your name off your birth certificate and we just called you "boy"? Thankfully, older copies of the Bible will usually have God's name in Psalm 83:18 and Exodus 6:3. Hope that helps

The Name of the One True God is extremely important that no man can imagine. He Himself reveals His Name through His Divine Messengers. Holy Books fail to express all the meanings of His Name. Man can only learn little by little. Man's meditation about the Name of God will shed great light for various branches of education to develop.
"I supplicate God that ye may become the army of that kingdom, in order that by the power of the Most Great Name, the friends of God may conquer this world through love, friendship and the strength of the Kingdom of peace; the human race become compassionate, and bloodshed and carnage be completely effaced from the universe."

Sure the name of GOD is important. I was a happy go lucky Pagan for years that was on a quest for actual truth. I got smacked on the head with that truth by Jesus himself. I use the name Jesus because that is who it was. I wouldn't call you Frank if you name was Bob. There is a whole framework to Christianity in order to minimize our flesh and maximize our spirit. Now if you get smacked on the head by the Flying Spaghetti Monster then I would think you should call him FSM. IMHO
GOD bless ya.

Religion divides us. Spirituality unites us. What is the meaning of a name but the symbolic representation we humans use to point to something. Since God is not a thing you can point to easily, giving God a name wouldn't be wise since the real God is beyond ordinary man's logic.

In ancient religions knowing the name of god meant having power over him. Part of th power of magic and religious ceremony is surprise, keeping something hidden and then revealing it has a greater psychological impact than using it in everyday language.

In my belief, the name choosing of the God is a way for that individual to connect to the God on a personal level. Although in some beliefs, naming of the God imposes restrictions on the diety itself..... :)

Yes...Everything about God is sacred...don't think of lowering your own soul than His name...His name is more important than everybody's soul...(He made you)...Names are a personal connection...do not call God just any mere name but use His proper Name...
