I'd go for a Vauxhall corsa. Vauxhalls are reliable. Go for one from a "good area" - if they can afford a £250,000 house they can afford to have the car serviced regularly. Check wear on the pedal rubbers. bad drivers hit the brakes a lot and it gives you a better indication of how the car has been driven than how many miles are on the clock.Ideally, one 3 to 4 years old. But my vectra is 1997 so - 9 years old and like new - and probably would sell for £1,200. For an LS that is good. But you want something really cheap to run and the low tax band - so the Corsa is probably the car. Don't worry if it needs cleaning. You can knock down the price if it's scruffy. Check the oil - the oil in mine was like new - and it hadn't been serviced for 6 months. I don't think he had the oil changed to sell it! It just means it had been looked after. If the oil is really black - then be wary. If it grey - don't touch it. Remember, a car loses half it's value in the first year and so a used car makes sense - if you can get a good one. if you can't afford cash - get a loan - don't use a dealer. i was offered £15,000 @ 5.9% by my credit card company - so borrowing is cheap now. But my car would sell on a garage forecourt to some idiot with a bad credit rating for £3,000. The first link below has nothing to do with Corsas - but may lead you to used car links - go there anyway. I was looking for cheap Vauxhalls and came across this funny article by Jeremy Clarkson - everyone click that link. The second one is for autotrader - to get some idea of current prices and the other one is my website - go there and click any advert just for the hell of it. But some good stuff - make sure you watch the "concept car video". Loads of interesting links courtesy of Google - try them. Especially video.

as you have a relatives i'm guessing which you're 25+, on that i choose to advise a used golfing, it rather is going to could be 04 plate ish yet with the golfing you get plenty greater motor vehicle, super build quaility, holds value o.k., reliable decision of engines (TDi is super), lots of boot area and area for little ones besides. otherwise the corrola is robust, aviod french automobiles like megane, punto and so on. have you ever seen the concentration they too are very reliable, you may merely be waiting to snatch the hot shape on your money. i'm suggesting bigger relatives automobiles whilst in comparison with the fiesta/polo sized because you will rather word that greater desirable room with little ones plus as they advance it it merely saves you earnings the long-term as you do no longer could purchase a bigger motor vehicle afterwards. All automobiles in that funds could have popular locking in the event that they do no longer walk away, they might desire to even have distant locking, do no longer concern some cd participant as those motor vehicle continuously be geared up later for approximately £70 rather. look for long mot, finished provider history, HPi checked and robust luck =) even however your little ones are all grown up i'm useful which you bypass out collectively somtimes and that greater desirable room is often benifital. The megane is funky yet what i could decide for, think of of what it rather is going to likely be like in the long-term because of the fact it may look superb now yet what approximately later. I nevertheless could follow the golfing or concentration otherwise look out for the old shape civic, they are super lots of room in back superb indoors super motor vehicle.
