A few years ago I was a volunteer in the Domestic Violence courts in Phoenix as a liaison because I speak Spanish. While I was there I saw countless men of Hispanic heritage that were being tried for domestic battery
against their spouse /girlfriends.Our court rooms are adjacent to the CPS court rooms where child abusers were tried for their crimes. The number of Hispanic being charged far our numbered any other race or culture
That's not indicative of good family values to me.And yes there were men/women of other races too,but the majority were Hispanic.I know there are good values in all races, and Hispanics arent perfect,no matter how many times its said.

I agree with you that hiding behind the "family values" thing is overused and a generalized plea used by those trying to rationalize their case. I also agree that there are alot of domestic related charges in the hispanic community, among others.. You being involved in that system first hand gives you a different perspective, and I wonder how many people aren't going to realize this?

No I don't do you? But when I lived on the military base the number of domestic abuse came from women your point? I can tell you different areas are going to have different ratios as far as races. Where I live we have more black families than other races. Therefore if you look at the courts and newspapers it looks as though there are more blacks committing domestic violence or what ever. Do I think that makes black men more violent or more apt to be abusive? No absolutely not.

Its about demographics.I live in Tx and also do volunteer work for the domestic violence division and also use to volunteer in the organization for missing and exploited children and though your right about there being a lot of hispanics in the domestic violence division in the other one I always tended to see more white people.Mainly middle age white men who always would deny ever having touched, fondled or in any other form abused a child.their claims were "that's just how we show affection".So bad family values runs deep on all ethnicities and believe it can't be targed to just one ethnicity it all just depends on the moral values that you were raised with.

Yes, hispanics do have a high rate of domestic violence. But so do the Native Americans in Arizona.

I would need to see statistics.. not just your personal observations, I also live in Arizona and was a Volunteer at Andre House for seven years.. I could give you my personal opinion of the 300 or so people we fed every Tuesday night.. what race was always drunk, what race was always high, etc etc, but that would only be my opinion.

I hadn't realized that violence was such a big part of Hispanic family life. Those aren't good family values but pure brutality and bullying. Why do these women put up with this BS?

lol ... well, I live in an area with a large Hispanic population, and we have the same problem here .. and to those who think the police force here is white ... sorry, you are mistaken, there are plenty of Hispanic police officers here who are called out for "Spanish speaking crimes", and they are damn fed up with the domestic violence they have to sort out day after day after day ....
Racial profiling? I don't really get that .. if the majority of people who commit a crime are of a certain ethnicity, how can it be racial profiling to state facts?

domestic violence and child abuse exists in all races and maybe the reason you saw more "Hispanics" as you say was because you were in phoenix Arizona!!!!!
try going to Boise Idaho..... and tell me how many Hispanics are in court for child abuse or DV
and Hispanics have the most important family value of all........ we worship God not money/ or the size of our cars, houses, and bank accounts like white people!!!!!
