I converted without anyone forcing me and I know many other people who have converted because the teachings of Islam are wonderful and truthful. But when the majority of people think about Islam they automatically think of Terrorists and oppressed women of Iran and other places.

it is a MYTH propagated by the church as they felt the threat of Islam as their competitor, so to defame Islam they spread many misconceptions, amongst them one of which is "Islam is Spread by Sword", which is totally FALSE. Islam was NEVER spread through Sword but through Word. People for themselves saw the Truth that Islam reveals. but where there was tyranny and oppression, Islam did fight with Sword against the tyrants and oppressors, but Not before inviting them to Islam, and then asking them peacefully to leave the tyranny and oppression on the ppl, and when tyrants/oppressors continued their tyranny/oppression on the ppl, then Islam Did Fight Against the tyrants/oppressors with Sword. But, Islam DiD NOT Spread by Sword, it is just a False Myth. Peace to All.
P.S. ... and the best example is today's world, when still Islam is spreading and Muslims haven't waged war for the spread of Islam on the western community, and yet so many westerners are Seeking The Truth and Entering Islam.

Islam is religion of Violent. If Islam keep threaten other religion, attack, killing in other country that is cause the war. Other religion don't hate Islam, because other religion hate Violent !!!, In other religion we cannot kill, burn, rape just because you attack our religiion. NO OTHER RELIGION WILL AGREE WITH THAT, But Islam DO, So Islam need to stop hating other religion, Which you cannot because base on Their Al Quran.
If you say extremist, terrorist are not from Islam, So what are they come from. Did they go to the special Mosque to be Terrorist or Extremist, The answer is NO. They go to the same mosque, their faith are base on Al Quran. I grow up in Indonesia, my house are close to mosque, I already hear a lot of hate speech again other religion. Other Religion dont hate Islam, Other Religion scare with Muslim violent. I am not base on the media, I also have a lot of muslim friend, I am from muslim country and I know how muslim thread non muslim. We can be friend with muslim but when it come to the religion, they thread us like enemy because of the religion. How many Church or other religion have been bomb, burn down, how many pastor, other religion beleiver have been torture, kill and also many of innocent people got kill.
So Muslim please stop talking nonsense. There is million of non muslim register as muslim for their on safe because in muslim majority if you are not muslim, you are in danger!!!! Violent, hate are not solving the problem. And stop calling Islam peace Religion. If Islam religion are peace the whole world will be peace. So you know the answer it is dangerous or not ???
Also There are many of muslim country that before dont allow church or other religion but you should know there are many under ground church arround the muslim country.
So stop talking non-sense. If people got more educated they are not going to stay with Religiion that are full of violent and hate. Just tell all the muslim country leader to allow the church and other religiion to grow. Do not discrimination, threat and kill other religion in the muslim country just because you found out they are not beleive in you religion.

All major religions have histories of vile and extreme violence. That is how they gained power to become "MAIN" religions.
I would love to stay and debate, but I don't think anyone who has lost the ability to use "th" in their writings would be any good at it anyway.
