A relative of mine HAD to stay here due to hardship in her country, she was accepted at the local public high school, but i am worried about her status here right now, as she has a tourist visa only, should I apply to a student visa, or should I ask for an extension in her visa (she is allow to stay in the US till february. The school wouldn't give me the I-20 form cause they say is public therefore free education. What should I do so she doesn't have problems later with immigration?

The problem is the town where she lives had a volcano eruption so that was a MAJOR thing, that's the reason why she was accepted at the high school there's no way for her to go back there!

With a Tourist visa you could study, but not graduate. You need a student visa. On the other hand, I have a friend whose husband is in USA working, and therefore she has the right to study without a student visa or tourist.

She requires student VISA for 100% in order to stay longer & Legal. BUT she will not get student VISA for 100% if she is from a country like India or Pakistan or some African country because to get student VISA she must have an admission in some University and she have to show at least US$ 25000 per year of stay in her country of origin. Means if she is applying for 3 years VISA she have to show that she have US$ 75000 in her OR her parent's bank account.

Forget about all these gimix buddy........let her come in on tourist VISA and than let her set free......!!

The school is wrong - many of them are. Your freind will absolutely have trouble in the future. She cannot legally study with a tourist visa, and she can't study in a public school even if she has a student visa unless she reimburses the school for her education; it's only free to people who are entitled to it.
Please read carefully everything on this reference, and take it to heart:

in my non expert opinion a tourist visa is granted to visit have fun and go back home surprised the school accept her without any prior transcripts? on the other hand student means getting an education at their own expenses and she would have to return to her native country to apply for student visa

You practice on-line and also you want to be commonplace right into a direction before making use of. you won't be able to do it from contained in the country, you've gotten to leave and come again in once you've been commonplace and given the visa.

Get a change in status, if you can. Ask the immigration service, not here.
