why would you want to contribute to a charity like that?
I would not if I knew what you know.

ALL religious teaching and practices lead to an increase in death, desease and misery in the 3rd world. KEEP YOUR MONEY FOR YOURSELF!

HI!
Here is a simple means to 'divine' a real answer for this one.
Look into -any- charity before giving money. Just don'e let the Sunday morning crowd sell you into what they say is a good thing.
Remember-you giving money to that charity says you back up what they do, in all their actions. So, just make sure you have the facts in making your decisison. This way, it will be your 'intention and will' behind the action of giving money, and your heart will follow that. If you find yourself questioning, for any reason, after seeing the information, then you can honestly say you are not sure about this, no?
As a side note ... there has never been a war declared in the name of Wicca ... the same cannot be said about a war declared in the name of 'God', no?

It would definitely be a mistake, if there were no redeeming qualities. It would depend on your conscience as to whether the positive aspects of the charity outweighed the negative aspects.
For example, if a charity helps increase fertility or saves the lives of babies, so that populations increase and there is more starvation, is the charity good or bad?

as long as one knows this was being done it would be wrong but not necessarily a sin. look at what the Christian religious people did here at Turtle Island ( The United States ) to the over 500 Nations in the name of Christianity. some are still performing similar actions today. look at the History of Christianity and Other Religions.

Would it be a sin to not give money to charity allowing death and misery to continue to happen in the third world?

Well, its certainly not making good use of the money that God has entrusted you with. In order to be a good steward you should make sure that the charities you are contributing to are honoring to God and are effective in what they do.

Yes
There should be no strings attached to a charity giving aid and support, Government aid is a different matter.

Jehovah witnesses?? (not sure to be honest)... Religions are hypocrisy anyway!! Not helping someone is worst than the action itself!
