yes it is unhealthy for animals just like for people...but if your cat goes outside and catches animals, theres really nothing you can do about it. I have 2 10 year old cats that are sisters. I feed them the same food at the same time and one is thin and the other is fat. My vet has even said theres not much you can do with an outdoor cat. They hunt down animals...thats just what they do, you can't stop them unless you keep them inside. If your cat doesn't go outside maybe put them on a food with less protein and measure out the portions.

It depends . Go to a vet and ask what they think. Maybe try putting the cat on a diet . And make sure that the get's alot of water. Good luck. It's not a good thing a cat is fat. Like all animals. Just make sure it get's the right food and water. And it will be ok.

yes, cats are not designed to get fat. Remember most cats benefit from missing a meal occasionally, its good for their digestion. I try to skip one meal for my cat a week. Also, never feed more than it will eat at one sitting

It depends on how old he is if he is old maybe, because when cats get older it is the same as humans they get better risks of heart problems and stuff, but if he is young he is fine he will run it off. If you are still worried talk to your vet about it.

yes, please take her to the vet to make sure she is healthy, if that checks out decrease the amount you feed her by 10% if you are free feeding STOP! look at the package of food to get the recomended amount to feed and there is usually a range, give her the low part of the range and divide it into 2-3 feedings. set a feeding schedule. I feed my cats at 6am 6pm and 10pm and have been doing that since they were 4 months old, they are 15 months old now.

yes. if your cat is too fat, he might have joint problems. and if the reson why he's fat is because your feeding him too much protein, it might damage his kidneys. furthermore, being overweight, even in humans causes heart strains
