What is love? Well when you turn your back on shelfishness and your thoughts are for someone else, cause they've changed your life. No part of you questions no part of you doughts, your only sure this is what loves about. Nothing and no one can stand in your way or keep you from saying what your heart is dying to say. That's how you know it's love. You no longer think of your self you think of that other person more than you do anything else. If when you two are not together and you still smile just thinking of him. When you fall in love your whole body feelings change! It's no longer about you anymore!

There are all different kinds of love.....Personally I think the most true love there is in this life would be the love that a parent has for their child, You love them no matter what they look like, no matter how smart they are or how many mistakes they make and your love goes on to the end, parents would die for their kids, this is real love.
I think when you fall for a member of the opposite sex it is more infatuation and after the initial excitement it often simmers down, in time it may become real love, more often we love the way that person does certain things to the point of thinking about them continually, we love how they make us feel in their company.
After love for the family would be love for friends often (although not always) a more true love than boy / girl love, sometimes we love friends more than some members of our own family, they are usually understanding and accepting of us and not as judgemental.
Many people love their animals and are truly devastated when they lose them, like love for children it is an unselfish love, and indeed no amount of riches would make your dog love a stranger more than he loves you.
So my conclusion would be that true love is unselfish, it is giving without looking to receive.
