If you can get ahold of a refridgerator box , decorate the outside very scary , cut a hole about at level where someone sitting inside can hand out candy . Print" reach in for treats ", when they do the monster inside grabs their hand .
You just go to sears or another appliance store for the box , it is free .
I make tomb stones for front yard and stand some home made monsters out there & some friends dressed up, to jump out at people !
Of course spooky music is a must . Oh yeah , if you can rig up a leaf blower near front door to blow some leaves that is scary too.
Ask some of the kids to get their parents to make a spooky kind
of food or treats .{ I made coctail weinies wraped in bisquit dough
like tiny pigs in a blanket and called them monster toes }!!!
I also go to the party store and get severed fingers , tounges , or fake roaches and put them on the food platers .
Have you ever made a grave yard pudding treat ? If not make pudding put it in an oblong cake pan , crush oreo cookies spread over pudding like dirt , make tombstones with rounded oblong vanilla cookies , add gummy worms !
Hope these few ideas help !!! Have fun !

Ok, let's be real. There are probably going to be more 14 year olds there tha 18 year olds so just put out flyers letting everyone know about your Halloween party and that a prize will be awarded to the person with the best costume ( maybe offer a gift certificate of a certain $ amount to a favorite mall store ). And as for decorations, buy some cheap skeletons and scarecrows and banners and decorate the room and have some good music and make your party a success. Oh and dont forget the food. No party is a success without good food. The only bummer is you are not going to be able to have alcohol ( sad face ).

let the house be dark, you could use candles(if you are afraid of putting fire then use some kind of lamps that you can control the light),decorate it with scary things like pumps, dark sheets, small puppets(scary ones) or spiders...

Maybe make a haunted house. Those are always fun.
