I often have a hard time staying encouraged to pray regularly. Any good thoughts?

Prayer is simply silly superstition. I think you are coming to realize that.

Hi there, Prayer is essential not only for this life but in preparing for the next life. I as a muslim pray 5 times a day (on friday i pray the 2nd prayer at the mosque with loads of other people). Since it is Ramadan (a holy month) i pray more especially in congregation with others, as this is a time to take advantage of the extra blessings one may recieve and unite with others whilst learning about our faith. It is also essential to wipe out any bad habits or misdeeds one has done (although this can be done at anytime of the year) and quit things such as smoking etc. After this holy month our festivel of Eid occurs. Take care dear Brother/Sister.

The only way to accomplish prayer for others and yourself is to keep your mind in tact like anything else. We make mental choices. The road is narrow and you need to be determined. In
Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. This can only be accomplished by making a direct determination of your mind through prayer. The saying where the head goes the body follows is true even in the spiritual realm. We are not to follow feelings and emotions. They change on us continually. We all have ups and downs. All we need to do is set our mind on Him and stay focused. Easy, of course not. We get distracted by all kinds of things. Give the Lord His time with you and be of good cheer for He has overcome the world.

I pray every morning as I plan my day. I watched your very logical video clip and it only makes since when you do not know how to pray. Why would God answer a stupid prayer and give you all sixes?
Believe me foolish prayers are not answered. If you want to be logical about all thing in this world, it is good but don't apply it to the things of God for logic does not apply to the creator of all thing.
God Bless you .

I don't pray, but I do set aside meditation time, usually after I come home from work--it's a nice way to get rid of the day's stress. I think looking at it like a small escape is a very good way to stray on track regularly, plus at the end of the day you've got everything you'd need to pray about on your mind already...then you can pray and go to sleep with no worries.

usually when I first get out of bed in the morning is when I Pray
" my morning Prayer " asking THE DEITY to help me make it a good day. then at night before going to sleep I Pray my " night Prayer. " through the day if I feel a need for special guidance I Pray then also. Especially before I start answering questions I ask for Guidance for I feel I need all the help I can get to do my best here.

I pray daily, first, I usually thank God for the day, His blessing and what he taught me, then I confess my sins and ask God for forgivenes, then I now pray for others ( those who has prayer requests, people who are struggling, people who still don't believe in God, etc), then I pray to God that Her gives me a teachable heart and a prayerful heart, then I pray for my personal concerns/requests. I find it helpful because I alsways see people's lives change before my eyes. Its very encouraging.

I try to pray in the morning and evening. Also at each meal. But I also try to remember to have a prayer in my heart all day long. This doesn't have to be something formal, just be mindful of God. Think good of all those around you and do your best to remember who you are. Sometimes the best prayers are those offered up in the heart.

Prayer is a very personal thing for me and at times it is hard to find that quiet place to pray. I pray while I am in my car going to work, I just shut off the radio and pray. That is a great way to start the day. I pray for God's face to shine down upon me, I that God for the things that I have, wife, kids, grandkids, job, my mom and I ask Him to watch over them. I pray for the people in government that they make the right decisions, I pray for my church in it's growth of Christianity. I thank God for His son Jesus Christ who died for all of our sins that we may have eternal life with them. I pray to end all the violence that is in this world.

Everyday,I go to my sanctuary, a quiet place where I usually meditate.A place where I can think of the "cry of the moment".It helps a lot for me.Being with God...being with yourself..being with the people you love through prayer is a wonderful experience.

You just have to practice it daily.A quiet place could be anywhere as long as you are not distracted...your room..in your garden..the beach..the church..or your office

Well being out of fellowship with God and out of church I cant pray. Psalms 66:18- If I reguard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me. Till I get back in fellowship with God then I can.
