If you listen to Bishops, Rabbis, Imams etc their view of god is the right one and all others are infidels, wrong etc. Are all religious leaders only interested in maintaining their ower rather than the view of God?

As some of the others have said each religion claims true authority. The silly thing is the three religions of the book, Judaism, Christianity and Islam are so alike and have many similar holy days. Indeed in the middle east some christian groups tell the tale that Mohamed's mentor was the monk of Buhyra ( may be spelt wrong) That monk was a renegade catholic priest who objected to the concept of the trinity. Hence the story goes "there is only one god". If you are seeking meaning to life. Live it, the chase for meaning and purpose can see yourself lost in the languages of religion and failing to live life as it was meant to be lived!

No religion that says that God would allow anyone to be judged or punished for any reason is speaking the true message of God.

This truth can be found in the scriptures of most religions but it is always misinterpreted to parallel the presumptions of the one doing the interpreting.

Christians are a good example. The bible they follow has the story of the prodigal son. It shows in no uncertain terms that Jesus taught the unconditionally loving nature of God.

Yet this parable is twisted to support the christian idea of a judgmental God. We are told that it is a story of forgiveness, yet nowhere in the story does it ever say that the father judged his son in any way. Judgment is a necessary prerequisite for forgiveness. No judgment, no forgiveness is necessary.

If you actually read the wording of the parable and don't bring in the christian spin, it says only that God loves us no matter what we have done and we are always welcome in his house. I guess the Christians think that Jesus made a mistake when he told the story and they are doing him a favor and correcting it.

The closest to the truth I have been able to find is not really a religion at all. It is a book called the course in miracles. The God it speaks of loves us unconditionally and seems to be sane, unlike the judgmental monster most religions have created.

To get to the answer, you have to ask some questions.

Which religion does not rely on craven images to place their faith in, like the Jews did at the foot of Sinai?

Which religion does not deal in retail exchange in their meeting places in order to support themselves?

Which religion can split their church congregations, repeatedly, and still have fully qualified people to lead the new congregation?

Which religion can you go from one congregation to another, anywhere on the planet, and meet people who believe exactly the same, without arguments over politics, whether women should be ordained, or gays in the church?

Which religion are both men and women legal ministers?

Which religion teaches the Bible, as a whole, to all the members, both adults and children, together? Not separating the children from the adults to be taught Bible stories.

Which religion gives all its members the equal of a Bible College education?

Which religion counts only the active members when it publishes their numbers, instead of all those who come to meetings?

Which religion has no elite who hold special positions due to the size of their donations?

Which religion, bigger than 1 million "active" members, does not rely on the passing of the offering plate, but can survive simply on what is place in a small box in the back.

Which religion has members, who when asked what day do they observe the Memorial, gives you a date based on the old Jewish calendar that Christ said to do it on, rather than a day in May.

Finally, which religion was Charlton Heston talking about when he said to Jane Fonda that if she like it so much that she should join them, to which she responded that she could never be as honest and faithful to Christ and God as they were, and neither could he (Heston).

When you can asnwer all these quesitons with the exact same answer, than you will have found the religion that Christ said did follow him, instead of jkust claiming to speak in his name.

Answer these question and you will have your answer

All religions are propagated on the back of ignorance and in some cases tyranny. They have no evidence to support their astonishingly moronic accounts for the existence of man and his so called purpose. There are many reasons why people believe such nonsense and none of it has any basis in facts or sound rationale. The vast majority of 'believers' are the offspring of believers and are never given the opportunity to think for themselves on the subject. They are brainwashed by their own family from the moment they can understand spoken language. Additionally there are many theists out their simply spreading lies about the evidence for evolution in order to validate their own beliefs and obfuscate the real science on the subject. Evolution has dealt a crushing blow to most religions in terms of how it is we have come to exist with such complexity. What do the theists do? fight back with lies and deceit! Nice principle.

A Roman Catholic priest in a German concentration camp willingly took the place of a prisoner who was condemned to die. This to me is a mark of love not power.

Baptist Minister Martin Luther King knew he would be assassinated but he continued his peaceful demonstrations for black rights until he was assassinated. Dr King was a very brave man who stood up to evil without even raising his hand in anger. What power did he have other than his love?

What power did Jesus have as he was punched, kicked and whipped? He had all the power in the world but chose not to use it. For love.

I chose my faith because the power of that love easily moves me to tears. Its not about power for me only love.

When I first gave my life to God in 1970, I had every preacher saying come my way & come this way, So I said to myself, there has to be a true answer. I said I will see what the Apostles of Old taught, & I will stick with that, that was between 1970 & 1974, & now I am in a church that teaches exactly as the Apostles of Old, I have been there since Aug. 1974

The religion that comes from your own personal walk with God. He will never lie to you or twist the scripture. No organized religion is pure religion anymore. Sad but true. Look to no one but God and the bible for your answers.
