It may take time but you have to save some money to get away. Also, look at the skills you have and see what job opportunities there are for you elsewhere.

Well, you are living in their house. That is part of your responsibilities.
Have a family meeting and make a list of what your family job description is and what they expect out of you and what you expect out of them. Communication goes a long way.
Find out how much your living expenses are to stay there. You pay them a certain amount every month. Take care of your own bills. Put all your money into a bank account so they won't take your money. Pay your bills. Save any money out and move. What was more important, a expensive car or a home of your own? Must have been the car.

Stop giving up your money for the first thing. You are the one left broke, not them. Stop complaining about doing for your grandfather, he is old and needs the help, you will get there one day, believe me, we are all young once and can dress ourselves and go where we want, but we get old and need someone to help us dress and be taken where we don't want to go. Be thankful he is giving "you" the chance to do it for him. All the cooking, cleaning and help you are giving now will pay off. Learn to hide your money and never give up what you need to survive on. Stop giving them your power, silence is golden sometimes. Tell them you are glad they feel the way they do about you, at least you know and take heed to what they are telling you. Save and get the **** out of there. No one deserves to be unhappy.

It sounds as if your family is taking advantage of your good nature. I think that you might want to start setting limits with them. Maybe not be as available 24/7 to do their work or help them out. The best way to start feeling better is to start doing some positive things for yourself. You may also want to talk to a trusted friend or counselor about this as a way of letting off steam. You are right that if this exploitive behavior continues, you have a good chance of becoming seriously depressed. The best antidote for being treated poorly is to start treating yourself better and setting some goals for yourself.

Get aggressive and speak you mind about how they treat you. They are not above you nor will they ever be. As time goes on, you'll understand that your feelings are what should be more important to them. Call the police the next time something comes up missing!
