The thief who was crucified next to Jesus who asked for and received Jesus' blessing is the patron saints of criminals.

We are not sure of his name but tradition calls him Saint Dismas.

No, thats just ridiculous. There is however St.Jude who is the patron saint of lost causes. I think a gangster would fall under that category.
