As I'm driving along, the car makes 5 quick beep sounds every 10 seconds or so and the light next to the dashboard clock illuminates. Is this some electrical issue? I hope so or my car must be haunted! Anyone have any ideas??

If one of the red dashboard lights is continually on, the engine needs emergency attention

Probably the clock has an alarm on it. Or it is the cars alarm playing up. Nothing to do with the ECU or engine management as I read others have said, it's far to old to have that type of technology in. Won't be much, on those type of cars the only noise to worry about is a deep roar or knocking, nothing much else to go wrong,

if its the light next to the clock its something to do with the alarm, or immobiliser, i suggest you take it to a garage to av it looked at, as if the immobilise sets then obviously the car won't start, but either way it should not cost too much

It is possible there is an timer in the clock itself. Try to reset the clock and see if this helps.

i think its in emergency mode in the ecu - you need to get to a dealer to get it sorted. it will not drive properly either

good luck

either that or you have a really cr@p cd in the car !

If it has air bags then it is the air bag module, and it either is bad or a problem in the circuit.
