Why are most of your religeons scared of Halloween? You have refused to celebrate and do not let your kids participate.

Hallow's day is ALL SAINT'S DAY--November 1.

In Mexico it is Day of the Dead, which is a religeous day for them too.

Why take this fun holiday away from the kids because of all your religeous aspects of how the day started? It is really not even important of what it was thousands of years ago, its what it is now that is important. Don't you accept change?

People seem to forget that in this day and age it is just about a fun night out for kids. It is based on a tradition harvest festivals and of scaring away or tricking the bad spirits and NOT about inviting satan into your heart. People who believe that these days are warped beyond all reason and will never see a true thing for what it is only what religious connotation it is wrapped in. These are the folks that believe in all their hearts and minds that the earth itself is only 6 thousand years old and that satan whispers all their hateful thoughts unless it a thought of hate against a heathen (everyone is a heathen to them) then they believe the thought came straight from god. They will not take responsibility for their own thoughts and actions and use god as their crutch. Also this unbending fear of halloween is mostly a North American (US) christian idea. I know Halloween isn't really celebrated in other cultures but it is in fact growing due to the spread of humanity back to the old countries. I know that some people in Japan take part and the Japanese people are not all out of their minds with fear of the devil.

Also I love it because it is my birthday! Still dressing up at 41 this year! BOOOOOOOOOO!

Oh and I am sorry the poster above me didn't prepare his child or talk to him about his clearly irrational fears and help to banish them because now that poor kid doesn't stand a chance.

Surely our society is eroding so quickly we should hold onto anything good. As parents why do we want to poison our childrens' minds with this rubbish. Its not fun. Its the thin edge of the wedge. Christians did NOT introduce this festival/event. It was a pagan idea to worship the departed souls. If they paid homage to the evil spirits then perhaps they would be spared by them when they too left the world. Its human nature to fear death. Some people cling to life because they fear what is to come after it because they can't see through the door.

It is not up to Christians to go round telling you that its wrong to celebrate in this way. They should just show you where it is that God says it is wrong. God is the voice of authority, Not some pontificating Christian in a suit (with a begging bowl) telling you how far into hell you'll end up. I'd be tempted to get a devil's fork and... no, not really!

To end all I can say is that our God is a jealous God. He wants to be worshipped by us and all he asked for is our hearts. Once you see what God can do with your life you won't WANT to dress up and scare people and you will see Halloween for what it really is.

And the last time a trick or treat came to the door my son screamed the place down and had nightmares for weeks, even months afterwards, so I don't involve myself or my kids.

God Bless.

Oh, one last thing - there is a big difference between being a Christian and being religious.

Halloween is the same as Memorial Day. All the evil connotations around that holiday were put there by Christians, who need to realize evil is also in the eye of the beholder.

I've heard that some religions refrain from Halloween just as Catholics celebrate All Saint's Day.

I think we all put to much thought behind negative thinking. Halloween when I was a child was a fun night to dress up and trick or treat. But then again things were much simpler back then.

The bigger question is, why would you want your kid to dress up in devil and fake brain washing clothes?

I wish I would of understood how dangerous this worshiping Satan occult crap was when my son was younger...

That goes for the easter bunny too
