Change vets. No really. Our vets refused to acknowledge a problem with our cat and she died a week later. Sorry to scare monger, but really - take him to another vet.

Have you changed his food lately? What about your laundry detergent, sometimes when we cuddle with our dogs, they nuzzle us and our cloths. Maybe it's an allergic reaction to something. Anyway, get him back to the vet immediately, he might just need a stronger antibiotic. If the vet can't help, ask for a referral to an animal hospital, they have specialists that should be able to help you with this problem. Give the poor little guy a hug for me, I know he's got to be miserable!

Sometimes vets have to try a few different things before they can find the right cure for your dogs problem, have you taken him back to your vet to tell them that the course of treatment isn't working?

You should also fit an "Elizabethan Collar" to your dog to stop him from making the problem worse, he probably will hate it, but it will stop him from doing serious damage to himself.

Could he possibly have a form of hay fever:? Try some piriton tablets for a day or two. Just use human medication, saves a fortune in vets bills and the high prices they charge for pills I always use human medication on my cocker.

Oh! Poor little guy! I have no real answer for you, just wanted to ring in that I LOVE Jack Russel's and I hope yours gets feeling better soon. They're not a breed that is prone to allerges and other such problems. You know, they're genetically hearty and don't commonly have allergies. Switch vets! Find one who will help and demand that they find a solutionl

Doctors for humans are the same way...sometimes you just have to hunt to find one who actually listens and cares and is reliable.

Good luck. Hope your sweetie is feeling better soon!

Get him straight back to the Vets, if you get no joy go to another for a second opinion. That does not sound like a healthy or happy dog.

He has some kind of allergy I'd say, he has developed a kind of dermatitis as a result. Consider revising his diet and don't let him outside alone, he may eating grasses that don't agree with him. Tell your Vet what you think and ask him/her what they think the problem is. JR's a terrors for burrowing because by nature they are ratters and rodent killers.

This sounds like an allergy problem. My dog has allergies and I went down to walmart and purchase an antihistamine tablets, like benadryl, or even the off brand allergy pills are okay. Make sure they are non-drowsy. Also, try to get the smallest pills you can, or you'll have to cut one in half.

take it back to the vet and ask for them to give a proper diagnosis before starting treatment. It might be expensive as they will have to do skin scrapes and blood tests.
