Keep your heating on, and at a low temperature during the day and it turns out to be more energy efficient. You stop ice going solid in your pipes and bursting them. You also save money and energy because the heating system doesn't have to be heated up all the time. That is what uses up all the energy.
What is this question doing in singles and dating though?

you should have your hot water on constant and your heating when you need it its a bit like a kettle it takes power to heat up then just re boils when it gets below a certain temperature using less power than keep boiling a cold tank if u turn it on and off.if your water is on constant the water is already hot for your heating so it works out alot cheaper

No. You are burning fuel which cannot be replenished. You put the heating on only when it is an absolute must.
