I know this question has been asked before and I am asking it again. As a matter of fact we should always ask ourselves this as a constant reminder of how blessed and fortunate we all really are.

God gives us freewil S. hithead. Ahh, funny. Life must always have balance. We have sunny days and we have rainy days. We have good days and bad days. It is up to you to choose the direction your life is headed in. Choose to live for the Lord and see how much your life improves.

Don't blame God for the world's problems foolish one. All good things come from God. Evil comes from the Devil. Have you ever noticed that if you add an O to God you have good. And if you take away the D from devil you have evil. Isn't that OD?

In the end it is what we choose to DO with our lives that really counts.

What God are you talking about Joe L? You assume that all religions worship the same God. Muslims worship Allah, who is a far cry from the God of the Christian faith. The God Christians worship speaks against violence and doing harm to our fellow man. We are instructed to love our neighbor. So exactly where does a gun come into play in all of that? It doesn't. You are obviously off your rocker.

It is quite obvious that a lot of people just don't get it and are messed up in the head. Oh well. Christians we must pray for them.

God is good. I am writing this in response of one of the previous answers to your question. When people say wars over religion are because of god, they are stupid. In almost every, if not all religions with gods, god says do not fight, do not kill, treat each other well...etc. People chose to fight. God gave people religion to give us morals and rules etc. People chose to fight over tiny technicalities about differences because people are stupid. War is our fault, not god's. Dont blame god. A famous proverb is that if you point a finger at someone, you have 3 pointing back. dont blame god for humanity's faults, for our faults.

God does just as much bad as good. Almost every conflict in the world has had roots in God. Fighting between the groups that believe in different Gods has divided the world since the beginning of time. Sure, God makes some really great things happen, but is God the one that seperates us into groups so we can all fight over which group God loves best and which piece of land God said belonged to which group? If God was truly, purely good, he'd let everybody know that they're all the same.

Worshipers of any god *assume* that their god is good. So, no matter what their god does, it is, by definition, "good." Suppose I hold a gun to a man's head and say, "Either you believe my name is Joe, or I blow your brains out. Oh, by the way, I love you." Do I really love him? Is what I did good? Of course not for both questions.
But when God declares, "Either you believe Jesus is... or you will burn in Hell fire and brimstone for the rest of eternity", Christians believe He loves us and is good. This is all really just an assumption for Christians.
If one were to attempt to find the most basic definition for God, one would find that "God" is nothing more than the ultimate cause of everything. Everyone who believes in God would agree that he is the ultimate cause of everything, good or bad.
God is neither good nor evil. God just is. And we dance to His music. (These latter three sentences are restatements of sentences in Richard Dawkins' East of Eden.)

there is no good are bad,GOD is the same. it is all relative, what seems good will sometimes turn out to be what people think is something bad, what is bad will sometimes turn out to be something considered good. it is all a learning experience, this physical world here is for,us to learn and grow, and change and become one with the spirit of god, and to be in the world but not of this world. this is the beginning , there are many more lessons you must learn my child. but you do have all of eternity to do this learning. so be patient. take life one day at a time, know my presence is with you,you asked me. so I told you my child.

Good?
Depends on which god and more importantly the way you make people feel about him.
For nice people, they show people god is good.
For bad people, they make you so angry that you want to attack heaven, kill all the angels, demolish the divine palace and pull that god down from his throne and beat him to bloody!
