Habits are what we do and repeat to do. It is very civilized to have concern about reducing global warming. This I say to prove that u r not crazy, but more rational.
As a person who also share a smiliar view about the little things you do, individually, that count, This part of the world we use so much of polythene. The categories I have identified are based on hygene, extent of damage to the sheet or cover, effort to clean and usability itself. Well, there are several compounds that make up various varieties that I surely can't differentiate. So, I collect. Re-use as many times as possible. The numbers I actually use are so few and those I am left with unused remain piled up. Again there is a concern from certain social groups about re-cycling itself. The pile usually finds its way, quite often to some recycling route.
Until it was democratically or technically agreed, lot of river water went down to seas unproductively. So is the energy wastage worldwide at present.
We may be early starters. Lot of others need a legislation for not spitting at some place and an enforcement agency to oversee them. Keep up the good job and stay confident about what u r doing.
May be we can't stop spending energy, but can do a bit less so we don't freeze or get hot. We can slow down the process so, some more humans can witness the polar ice and icebergs. Well, AFAIK, we can slow down a bit but the trend has set in and appears irreversible.

First, the issue is about climate change. Second, the word "global" should give you an idea that it is not an individual problem, but a collective, global problem requiring collective, global effort, not individual effort.
The best that any individual can do is either (1) not contribute to the problem, and (2) learn as much as you can about how to adapt to claimate changes that may occur. The first one is difficult, for how do you not contribute to the problem if you are a member of a society that does the things that supposedly contribute to the problem? Become a hermit? Live like a wild person in the wilderness? The second option would seem to be the best place for an individual to work. Ask yourself, and do research to find out what changes may occur due to climate change--and find out ways to adapt. For example, one result of climate change is that diseases formerly found mainly in the tropics--like Malaria--are moving north (or south). Trees are finding it hard to adapt, so maybe a tree-planting effort (moving trees in the south to a more northerly climate (or southern) could be done. Many animals with a niche of some sort, like polar bears, will find it increasingly hard to survive, so maybe some program that helps them survive could be something you could do.
While I commend your policy against littering, I don't think that will have any impact on climate change, though it may affect the pollution and beauty of your neighborhood. Walking instead of taking a car, or taking a bus instead of a car, or using LPG instead of gas in your car would all help you to not contribute to claimate change, but wouldn't reduce it at all. Getting your county or city or state to use LPG instead of gas would also have the same effect--not contributing.
I don't think we can hold back the likelihood of climate change. The best we can do is learn to adapt. I know Gore thinks we can go back to the Garden of Eden, but he's dreaming. The only thing I agree with Bush about is his stand against Kyoto. We can't reduce "global warming" or global climate change, but we can learn to adapt.

I walk a lot.
I try to find out which companies are the worst polluters and if they have a product I can boycott, I do, plus I try to let as many people as I can know about them too.
For example, one of the most well known brands of tissue, I won't buy, because the company that manufactures them is refusing to stop using virgin Canadian forest as its source of wood pulp. We should all be more demanding of environmental responsibility from the companies who rely on us as consumers of their products. We should be checking the internet for information about them, and if we don't like what we find, we have the power to hit them where it hurts the most, in their bank accounts!!
Also, join an environmental group and be part of a group effort to help make a difference in the world. Many companies and industries are able to get away with murder, simply because people aren't aware of what they are doing.

recycle what u cn
dont smoke
use public transport, walk or use the bike when u cn (short distances)
long distances use the train if u cn
dnt litter
plant
make other aware of what they can do
organize recycling etc at where you work (or school)
e.g. in our school we collect paper from each classroom instead of putting it with the rest of the stuff (we recycle it after, these ppl pick it up) this activity is quite fun in lunch or wateva ppl go around with carts (trollies from IKEA) collecting papers, we have a little peace garden with nice plants, nd we also collect batteries.
ill add more when i think of stuff. but i agree its important. very important. its about our future, of all humans, not just our generations.

there are a number of steps that as a individual can take to cut back worldwide warming. My buddy, first seem into your very own exterior. India is complete of pollutants, contaminated waters, polluted air and sturdy pollutants everywhere maximum well known to public wellness illnesses. Why no longer all of us take pleadge an take steps to guard and save or ecosystem first, then take steps to cut back worldwide warming. My buddy, worldwide warming is the recent manthra the western international is doing. do you be attentive to why US buys textiles and leather-based from India and different underdeveloped international places? think of intently - One answer is cost. yet why the cost is extra cost-effective in india - with the aid of fact therapy of pollutants springing up from those industries is so severe and those superior international places donot manage to cut back cost. I choose each citizen in India takes superb accountability for pollutants and is given superb rights to potect the earth. that is referred to as Human rights.

Conserve energy at home. Turn electricity off when you can. Use halogen energy-efficient bulbs. Look for energy star appliances. Don't drive a big gas-guzzler (I drive a little Hyundai myself but SUV's are very popular & are helping to destroy the planet). Reduce, reuse, recycle. Respect the planet & maybe she won't kill us.
