There are a few truths to some of the points he makes. This is why his message resonates with some people.

However, psychiatry has improved by leaps and bounds since the days when L. Ron Hubbard observed an infantile discipline clinging to a number of wild conjectures.

The psychiatry of today is the best we have. Hopefully people will continue to challenge today's "gold standard"; this will provide the best impetus for improved therapies in the future. Contemporary psychiatrists find many 50, 30, and even 20 year-old theories laughable. With any luck, psychiatrists 20 years from now will find many of today's theories equally laughable.

Not necessarily. I do agree that scientology is a cult, though. Psychiatry has too much pill pushing to suit me. I'm more into psychology and psychotherapy. Far more effective than pill pushing. Tom is a psycho, in my opinion.

Tom's 'religion" Scientolgy is a Nazi science. The guy's a closet case.

I don't. You have to remember that Cruise is a scientologist, and they have some rather odd beliefs. As I've come to see it, scientology is not a real religion. It's just a cult, just some mess started by that L. Ron Hubbard character.

How come every time somebody doesn't like something they call it "Nazi"? Nazi this, Nazi that ......... If the allusion was meant to convey a means of control; subjection, I agree. Psychiatrists are pill pushers and very little else.

NO, absolutely not. There are a lot of individuals that have unique opinions on things. Because of Tom's celebrity status, his views are often publicized. This is unfortunate, because his opinions are no more important or valid than yours or mine. An there is a lot of scientific data to counter his particular opinion on this particular subject.

Psychiatry is like Bible. It helps a lot even if you don`t believe or accept everything written or said.
