The precise cause of the twitching (muscle fasciculations) is unknown, and, in fact, it's not known if it's a disease of the motor nerves, the muscles, or the neuromuscular junction.
However, anxiety is clearly a major contributing factor in many cases, and a high level of psychological stress appears to be a factor in others.
Another factor that seems to be common in many cases is a history of regular strenuous exercise. In addition, there are likely other genetic and environmental factors that make the patient more susceptible to Twitching.

But i suppose yours is a case of benign twitching (mild twitching)
and not caused by a disease or disorders.

Benign twitches Often affect the eyelids, calf, or thumb. They are Normal and quite common, often triggered by stress or anxiety, A diet deficiency, Drug overdose, Drug side effect (such as diuretics, corticosteroids and estrogens), and Exercise.

A friend of mine had twitching on his legs, upper chest, shoulders, and Eye lids... He took Lorazepam (anti anxiety) for a while and kinda went away...But I'm not advising you though, to take this drug.. Better consult your physician first.

Yes, tiredness, calcium and vitamin deficiency can cause twitches of eye lids, lips, muscles in the palm.

Stress also can cause them

Eat vegetables, fruit, drink milk and for a short duration some multivit tablets.

I've had that exact same thing happen to me. It's so annoying! Especially when I would try to put on eyeliner and my freaking eyelid would go nuts. I went to an opthomoligist and he basically told me it was stress. Which it was. I had just moved to a new city, etc, etc....so stress is a big factor. Also, eyestrain might be a factor as well.
