Good question! I often ask that myself. First of all you have to be somewhere social where you can interact with people. You wont find your soulmate knocking at your front door.
Sometimes. maybe when your not looking you will meet someone who is interesting and fun to talk too. Mental stimulation, leads to respect and just being compatable enough to enjoy each others companionship. I dont count on my looks, because i have none. Its real hard to find someone who looks below the skin.
If only the heart was attached outside our skin and people could see us as we really are,
Maybe then we could all find our soulmate a lot sooner, then later. Sometimes the later gets here to soon, and here we are older and less appealing. Good luck.

Who said you had a soulmate?
So what have you done to make yourself someone worthy of a soulmate? Time to stop dreaming and start focusing! Get involved in making the world a better place. Volunteer, find a cause, invest yourself and you'll find your soulmate.

Not if you stay in the toilet too much.
You have to go where many eligible women are, even to another country if you have to. And the woman who is meant for you will find you quickly.
Good location is everything. This true in business. And it's even more true in relationships.
You being in the right place and at the right time is what your soulmate needs in order to find you.

Would you believe that I'd trusted in all those stories about two halves of apples/oranges, etc, till I were 23? (that's what I'm now...). Well, this belief gives you hope at least;)
BUT - I realised that sometimes it all depends on you. Maybe there is no halves and it is our job to do the first step, to decide to do sth towards someone... I used to believe that... it will all happen by itself. That I don;t have to do anything, I don;t have to think about opportunities - thet it will just happen. But not. If I'll lost the opportunity, it can be lost forever....

You don't choose love....it chooses you. When you stop looking and settling for less, love will find you. And loving that person will be the easiest and best thing you have ever done.
