Were they slightly electrocuted?

Honestly, I felt nothing. Prior that, I was expecting a Holy Spirit of some sort. I looked behind and found two people ready to catch me.

Sensory overload and a point of psychosomatic religious ecstasy. The believe they have been touched by part of god.

Part of it may also be the same thrill that groupies get when someone like Anthony Kiedas (red hot chilli peppers) sweats on them. It's part belief and part orgasm.

They are overcome, so they faint. Also it is expected of them. I bet many wake up the next day and wonder why they fell out in front of millions of people for nothing more than a tap on the head.

maybe scientifically explained like the pressure their brains can get when a hand of a so-called evangelizer is laid on the forehead or the top of the head. I think they are just pressured that's why they faint. It could be for the reason that they see other people faint and when the hand reaches their forehead, they tend to faint too. That is also an example of pressure.

It could be because of the belief too especially that this is something religious. In my case, an evangelizer touched my head once and I had two people at my back to catch me before I could faint. Unfortunately (to the evangelizer), I didn't faint and that created a moment of silence. People were looking at each other. They seemed to wonder what went wrong. Since I didn't faint, they started saying I was with the devil. That was funny. I believe in God but I don't believe that part of his power is in an evangelizer's hand. Why should God let me faint in the first place? I mean what is the logic behind this? Will I ever be drawn closer to God if I faint? We can be with God and we can feel him without these pushy hands to keep me lying on the floor.

Hello!! :o) It's one thing to criticize an evangelist - but I think we should tread softly on those who believe what he is saying and doing. God works in mysterious ways. And I think that one of those 'ways' could be through an evangelist. Even IF the evangelist is as phony as a $3 bill. As for WHY they faint... it's possible that God is causing that reaction - but who knows. It's best to err on the side of having respect for those who SAY that they were 'touched by God' and being 'healed'. [Because it's impossible to know for sure what's happening] Have a great day!! Craig!! :o)

There are two possibilities. The act is well rehersed. Some people do have some power born of biomagnetic vibrations, nothing to do with God. Some have a weak system which when confronting this strong current tends to fumble. That's it. Some people are supposed to have charisma. It is of the same genre.

this form of religion is false to say the least, I have witnessed this, they are so weak in soul that they beleive that a priest can heal them if they are layed upon by his hands. I also witnessed that the preist and these people always come together on the same bus.

for real spirit healing (some of that stuff CAN actaully work and have a real effect....) it would likely be from the person receiving a burst of spiritual energy/force/power that simply overwhelms them.

in a more practical way of looking at it... its more dramatic and makes a better show, combined with the trance-ish aspects... pre-expectations, and really beliving it, all result in the dramatic collaspsing.

but in another sense, the trance-ish aspect, their beliving it is part of how it could have its effect, (more or less a degree of placebo-effect) and with that in mind, the dramatic "poof" to allow it to work, is part of the whole "thing" that makes it have the effects it does.
