as everything is in life, what you take from it is what you get.

i see it as a way for millions of people to connect and understand more about life.

its not really a competition. you don't gain anything. except maybe that you shared something with someone else instead of doing meaningless crap elsewhere on the web. It's also a good way for people to get help with things they need - and remain anonymous.

You must know what it is cos you haved joined already ie. You ask a question and others try to answere it. You get points marked against you answere as to whether it was a good answere or bad and 10 whole points if yours was the best one chosen. Get it? Its both interesting and informative.

It was probably meant to be a serious forum for people to ask questions and others to share their knowledge. It has achieved that, I think, but it also has a characteristic of the internet; it has a major feature that is trivial and of no practical use. It also can be simple fun.

Well as far as I understand if you have a question or query you can't find in Yahoo Search, you can refer also to Yahoo Answers where you might find the answer for which you are looking. It is a kind of supplementary search.

you get to ask questions and hopefully get answers and at the same time you're motivated by thoughts of power (points, lol) to answer other peoples' questions.
